Cottage Avenue Community is a transitional housing program for homeless families in Baltimore, Maryland. Founded in 2000, Cottage Avenue Community is located in the Park Heights neighborhood of Baltimore City and has a capacity to serve 15 families at a time. The neighborhood setting in which the program is located helps families integrate into the community and develop positive, supportive relationships with other families nearby.
The Cottage Avenue Community housing program is designed to help families transition from emergency shelters to permanent housing and self-sufficiency. To assist participants in reaching their goals, Cottage Avenue Community families are offered intensive case management services and participate in support groups, life skills development activities, and parenting classes. Resident families also have access to the nearby services of St. Vincent de Paul's St. Ambrose Center, which include employment services and after-school and summer programs for children and teens.
