Current volunteer opportunities
at Adelante Familia include:
First Responder:
The First Responder will be the first person clients
see and/or speak with when they stop by or call our
center. This volunteer will determine how we can help
the person in need – whether or not we offer that
service, if so, which staff person would be best fit
to help them and if not, refer the client to other programs
in the area by using our resource manuals and other
tools onsite.

Must be bilingual (Spanish/English)
- Monday – Friday, two shifts – 9:00 am-1:00
pm or 1:00 pm-5:00 pm.

Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older.

A commitment of at least one shift per week is required.
Assistant
to Advocate:
After comprehensive training, (provided by Adelante
Familia) this volunteer will assist the Advocates on
staff by accompanying Spanish (only) – speaking
clients to court, DSS, and any other place related to
our services, where the client will need an interpreter.

Must be bilingual (Spanish/English)

Monday thru Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and
7:00 pm. (depending on the appointment time).

Volunteer must be 16 years of age or older.
Hotline
Operator:
Adelante Familia has partnered up with the Baltimore
Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Hotline to expand
the service to become bilingual. The Hotline Operator
will receive a 30 hour training done by the hotline
staff.

Must be bilingual (Spanish/English)

Must commit to one year of service, at least 3 shifts
per month.

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Child
Care Provider:
Support groups for Latina women are offered twice per
month, and child care is provided for these meetings.
Volunteers will need to receive a one hour training
called Child and Youth Protection, offered by a staff
at Adelante Familia or one of St. Vincent de Paul’s
other programs.

Volunteer must be 16 years of age or older.

Must be willing and able to commit to one 3 hour shift
per month.
