Volunteer by Program: Camp St. Vincent

Camp St. Vincent is looking for volunteer Counselors in Training (CIT) for the 2008 camp session. CITs are scheduled for 35 Hours Per Week, Monday thru Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Principal duties include:

  • Primary responsibility to assist Lead Counselors in supervising all assigned aspects of the camper’s day including, but not limited to, arrival and departure, instruction periods, large group gatherings, special activities, breakfast and lunch.
  • Be welcoming to campers each day of arrival, helping campers to find a their groups, getting to know each camper's name and introducing campers to each other, going over the camp program daily, helping all campers maintain appropriate hygiene, and checking daily for illness and injury.
  • Assist with interpreting the behavior and discipline policies, safety, first aid and emergency procedures, policies and traditions of the camp to the camper.
  • Maintains a leadership role and assists the Lead Counselors and Instructors in implementing the camp program.
  • Guides campers in all camp activities, and participates fully in all aspects of the camp program.
