volunteer opportunities at Head Start include:
Classroom Assistants
Location - All
Hours - Monday – Friday
8:00am – 2:30pm, 8:00am – 11:30am, 11:30am
– 3:00pm, 12:30 – 4:00pm
Direct Supervisor – Classroom Teacher
The Classroom Assistant is an individual that loves
to see children learn, blossom and grow. The Classroom
Assistant is responsible for helping the teaching team
with implementation of lesson plans, outdoor play, serving
meals, reading to children and interacting with children
in small group settings.
Front
Desk Receptionist
Location – Pimlico
Hours - Monday – Friday
7:45am – 4:00pm, part-time hours are also available
Direct Supervisor – Administrative Assistant
The Front Desk Receptionist will benefit the program
by greeting guests, answering telephone and monitoring
the front door. Must love interacting with people and
have a great personality.
Greeter
Location – Arlington & Pimlico Art Center
Hours - Monday – Friday
7:45am – 9:00am, 2:00pm – 3:00pm
Direct Supervisor – Family Services Coordinator
What a wonderful position to hold! The Greeter will
monitor the front door and welcome children, parents
and guests to the center. Must be willing to meet new
people and wear a Smile at all times.
Gardener
Location – Arlington & Pimlico
Hours - Varies
Direct Supervisor – Education Coordinator
The Gardener will bring about beautification to our
outdoors. The Gardener will incorporate children activities
around planting, watering and plant maintenance. This
position requires the love of teaching, outdoors and
gardening.
Volunteer
Coordinator
Location – Pimlico
Hours - Varies
Direct Supervisor – Family Services Coordinator
Supervisor
The Volunteer Coordinator will work directly with the
Family Services Coordinator Supervisor to recruit, interview,
assign and orientate new volunteers. The Volunteer Coordinator
must be detailed oriented and an effective oral communicator.
Newsletter
Editor
Location – All
Hours – Varies
Direct Supervisor – Family Services Coordinator
Looking for a creative individual to produce a monthly
newsletter to feature classroom events, upcoming activities,
health information and community relations. The Editor
will collect written information from parents, community
and staff.
