Summer Service Opportunities -
Head Start Southeast:
Volunteer at Summer Camp for Pre-school age children.

Monday-Friday, 8:30am-2:30pm
Patterson Park Site

Volunteers must be at least 15 years old and commit to one full week.
Family Services Assistants Needed: (Throughout the summer)
-Assist with enrolling families into the program, following up with returning families, creating student files and entering student data. Bilingual English/Spanish particularly needed. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
Monday-Friday 9:00am-3:30pm.
Head Start Northwest:
Volunteer at Summer Camp for Pre-school age children.

Volunteers must be at least 15 years old and commit to one full week.
ESL Tutor:
Location: Pimlico Art Center
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-10:00am
Teach basic English speaking, reading, and writing to Spanish speaking/limited English parents. Basic training and materials will be provided if necessary. Knowledge of Spanish is helpful, but not required.
Document Translator:
Location: All (Head Start SE in most immediate need)
Direct Supervisor: Family Service Coordinator Supervisor
Translate documents such as parent newsletters, monthly calendar, letters, etc into Spanish. Must be able to read and write in both English and Spanish and be able to use Microsoft Word.
Family Service Coordinator Bilingual Assistants:
Location: Patterson Park & St. Brigid’s
Hours: Mon-Friday; Varies
Assist our non-Spanish speaking Family Service Coordinators in their communications with Spanish speaking families. Duties may include helping to enroll children into the Head Start program, making phone calls to parents, and translating during meetings between parents and family service coordinators. Must be fluent in both English and Spanish and comfortable working with families that may be in crisis. Training will be provided.
Office Helper:
Location: Pimlico & Patterson Park
Hours: Mon-Fri. Varies
Help with administrative duties such as filing, photocopying, creating handbooks, and organizing existing
resource notebooks/handbooks.
Media/Communications:
Help create presentations (videos, slide shows, brochures) that will can showcase and inform the public about
St.Vincent de Paul’s Head Start program.
Special Projects:
Location: All
Hours: Varies
Have a talent or favorite hobby? Share it with Head Start students. Teach kids how to juggle. Create an art project. Perform a puppet show. We can incorporate your talent or hobby into the curriculum or create a special time for a new learning experience.
