Conduct a Donation Drive
SVDP could not support the many individuals who seek our help every year without the generous donations of clothing, supplies, food and so many other critical items. Donation drives conducted by local offices, social groups, clubs and other organizations are vital to our success. The residents in our care will benefit from your generosity. If you are able to conduct a donation drive, below are the some of the items especially needed.
Help feed our hungry neighbors by hosting a food drive. Whether you’re collecting canned goods as a scouting project, accepting non-perishables as event entry or organizing a traditional food drive in your community, every donation makes a difference.
Food items may include: peanut butter, jelly, canned vegetables, fruit cups, applesauce, canned soups, Gatorade and bottled water.
We accept brand new backpacks. Backpacks may include school supplies such as #2 pencils, college ruled paper, pens, erasers, glue sticks and other essential items.
We only accept brand new clothing. Our biggest need is men’s clothing or interview appropriate clothing.
Hygiene kits may include shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and razors (travel size).
Move-In kits may include cleaning supplies, pots & pans, laundry basket, dish sets and other essentials for moving into a new home. Especially needed are new twin sheets, twin blankets, towels and pillows.
We only accept brand new shoes. We will accept all sizes as they are a very popular item at our shelters.
