Since November, the Baltimore region has experienced its coldest winter in 18 years. Arctic blasts have driven temperatures far below seasonal averages, turning everyday inconveniences like heavier coats and higher heating bills into a dangerous, life-threatening reality for individuals and families experiencing homelessness across Baltimore City and Baltimore County. In response to these extreme conditions, St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore (SVDP), in partnership with Baltimore City and Baltimore County, has activated its emergency cold weather response across its three family shelters.

As we face the most severe winter weather yet, your support is what makes these critical services possible.

Drop off emergency cold weather donations

Items can be delivered directly to:

  1. Beans and Bread Resource Center, located at 400 S. Bond St. Baltimore, MD 21231
    Donations can be dropped off Mon-Fri, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  2. SVDP Eastside Shelter, located at 9150 Franklin Square Dr. Rosedale, MD 21237
    Donations can be dropped off 7 days a week, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  3. Hannah More Family Shelter, located at 12041 Reisterstown Rd, Reisterstown, MD 21136
    Donations can be dropped off 7 days a week, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  4. Sarah’s Hope Family Shelter, located at 1114 N Mount St, Baltimore, MD 21217
    Donations can be dropped off 7 days a week, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Here is the list of needs:

  • Twin-sized sheets (MUST BE NEW and only dropped off at Eastside)
  • Non-perishable food
  • Bottled water
  • Blankets (MUST BE NEW)
  • Warm clothing (MUST BE NEW)
  • Cold-weather gear (MUST BE NEW)
  • Hygiene supplies
