Housing Services

We offer a comprehensive range of housing services aimed at promoting long-term stability and independence. These services focus on preventing homelessness before it begins, providing rapid access to housing, and offering ongoing support for those with the greatest needs.

Together, our housing programs like Home Connections, Front Door, and Veteran Services, provide a continuum of care:

  • Homelessness prevention and shelter diversion to help individuals and families avoid entering the shelter system.
  • Rapid rehousing to assist people in quickly transitioning into safe, permanent housing.
  • Permanent supportive housing to offer long-term rental assistance combined with wraparound services for those facing chronic or complex challenges.

Through these targeted services, we work to ensure that those with the greatest barriers to housing, can achieve stability, dignity, and independence.

Hunger Services

Hunger is a constant reality for anyone living in poverty. One in eight people in Maryland, and one in four in Baltimore City, are food insecure. Many children in the Baltimore region are hungry when they arrive to school, and many have not eaten a full meal since they left school the day before. We offer consistent access to nutritious food to men, women, and children throughout the Baltimore region. Beans & Bread is a comprehensive resource program serving more than 300 people per day. Good Harvest Community Kitchen delivers healthy meals to over 63 locations across the city and county.

Shelter Services

Homelessness can result from a variety of circumstances, including loss of employment, illness or disability, domestic violence, or other personal crises. Our shelter services include three comprehensive 24/7 shelters: Sarah’s Hope Family Shelter, a 145-bed facility in Baltimore City; Hannah More Family Shelter, an 85-bed facility in Baltimore County; Eastside Shelter, an 248-bed facility in Baltimore County; and Interim House Family Shelter, a 10-unit transitional shelter also located in Baltimore County. We also operate a day shelter that offers daytime services and support to individuals experiencing homelessness.

Services to Children

We are deeply committed to supporting the well-being and success of children and families across our community. Many of our programs are specifically designed to meet the needs of children, ensuring they have the support and opportunities necessary to thrive. From Camp St. Vincent, which promotes learning, stability, and joy during the summer, to our Early Childhood Education programs, where we help infants, toddlers, and preschoolers build a strong foundation for school and beyond. Across all of our family-centered services, we focus on creating safe, nurturing environments where low-income families and children experiencing homelessness can learn, grow, and succeed all year long.
