HEAD START & EARLY HEAD START PROGRAM
About Our Early Childhood Education Programs
Our Head Start and Early Head Start programs provide early childhood education services to prepare infants, toddlers, and pre-school children for school, while also helping parents achieve financial, housing and health stability goals that benefit their families and the entire community.
St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore operates six fully credentialed Head Start sites and two licensed Early Head Start sites in Baltimore City, serving 733 children. Classes are full-day and include free breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks. Acceptance is based on meeting eligibility requirements and available space in classes.
Head Start services are associated with positive, long-term outcomes for low-income children including higher cognitive test scores, higher rates of high school and college graduation, higher employment rates, higher earnings, and better overall health outcomes.
Contact us for eligibility requirements at (410) 685-7288.
NEW Free Meal Distribution for Head Start Families
Our Healthy Kids Meals-to-Go Club (Meal Club) provides free healthy meals for children enrolled in Head Start and Early Head Start. With classrooms operating remotely, the Meal Club is designed to fill the nutrition gap for children and provide any support to your household budget.
