Frequently Asked Questions
What are your Covid precautions?
St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore places your safety, and the safety of our volunteers, as our highest responsibility. Our 2021 event will be an open air Drive-Thru experience to adhere to COVID safety protocols adapted from CDC recommendations. All food has been prepared in professionally licensed kitchens, and all event staff will be required to wear masks throughout the event. Additional masks, gloves & hand sanitizers will be readily available for staff and guests.
If you have any questions regarding our protocols, or our event in general, please feel free to reach out to St. Vincent de Paul at LaTasha.Fisher@vincentbaltimore.org or 443-939-8576.
Will I be able to purchase tickets on site?
No, in order to have the appropriate amount of soup on site, we ask all tickets be purchased ahead of time.
Are the soups dietary friendly?
With the purchase of your ticket, you will be able to select the option of gluten free, vegetarian or vegan soups.
Can I schedule another time to pick up my soup?
We are only permitted to hand out soups day of the event 1pm-4pm. If you are unable to pick it up during this time frame, your purchase will be donated to our local shelter.
What if I don't drive? Can I still participate?
We would still love to have you! You can still purchase your tickets, then email email@example.com so that we can schedule a time to meet you at the front gate to pick up your soup!
Are there opportunities to volunteer?
We are grateful for the loyal support of our Empty Bowls volunteers, some of which have been helping for more than 10 years. Please know that the change in event style does not require volunteers. We plan on being back to our normal format next year. In the meantime, a ticket purchase or donation would be greatly appreciated.
I’m not comfortable attending events at this time. How can I help fight hunger in our community?
St. Vincent de Paul remains committed to ending hunger all year round. Since last March, we have served over 1.5 million meals. A donation of $100 in support of providing meals in our community.
You can be part of the solution.
